Dear Community Members
Welcome to Week 8!
OAM recipient
We congratulate Kym Meers, (Mum of Izla) who received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) on the weekend recognised by the Governor General for Service to the Community through Charitable Initiatives. Congratulations to Kym on this remarkable achievement. Our Dominican Community is very proud of you!
Master Plan update
Our Master Plan is well under way and final touches are being made for its approval from Catholic Education SA. Once it has been approved, we will be moving quickly into the design phase of the process where we will begin to see what our school improvements will actually look like. I look forward to sharing these developments with you when they are available.
Uniform
We are well into Winter now and students are required to be in the correct uniform each day. This is an important part of our identity as a Catholic School and being a member of the Dominican School Community.
Absences
Student absences have been significantly high throughout this term, across the student cohort, and I encourage you all to ensure that students are at school when they can be and on time as much as possible.
Visit from the Director of Catholic Education SA
Last week I informed you that Dr Neil McGoran, Director of Catholic Education SA will be visiting Dominican School on Wednesday 3 June. I am pleased to inform you that The Advertiser will also be here to photograph our students and the Director. This photograph will feature in the Advertiser during Catholic Schools Open Week in August.
Semester Reports
Student reports are now being finalised and I commend the teachers for the way in which these have been prepared. I have enjoyed reading each students report and the learning that has taken place this Semester. These reports will be sent home in hard copy on Friday June 25.
Have a great week!
Kind regards
Phil Holmes, PRINCIPAL
