Technology

At Dominican School we are acutely aware of the need to provide students with the opportunity to develop their skills in digital technologies.

In our Junior Years, all  Reception to Year 2 classes have access to iPads to complement  the learning program. This evolves through Years 3 to 6 when students engage with  technology to delve into research and creative projects seamlessly. Students are provided with their own laptop to use here at school and are educated in the needs and expectations of responsible digital literacy.

Devices are purchased and managed by the school and are included in the total school fee paid by parents.

Technology for Future Ready Learning

At Dominican School, we understand the importance of preparing students for the jobs of the future. Year 3 to 6 students benefit from a 1:1 laptop program, allowing them to delve into research, coding, and creative projects seamlessly. Our Year 2 students engage with their learning through 1:1 iPad devices, enhancing their digital literacy from an early age, with Reception and Year 1 students having access to class sets of iPads, integrating technology into their foundational learning experiences.

Innovative Maker Spaces

Dominican School proudly hosts dedicated Maker Spaces, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills through the Design Thinking process. These spaces are equipped with state-of-the-art resources, including 3D printers, where students can bring their ideas to life. Through our robust technology initiatives, we empower students to be not just consumers, but creators, of technology. Our goal is to instill in each student the confidence and skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly advancing world, where adaptability and innovation are key.
